Diana Bonebrake, a native Angeleno born in 1960, has talent as natural and vivid as the landscapes she paints. The pieces in this show make it difficult to take the sky for granted; Night #3 almost looks like a time-lapsed photo as evening melts into night. Night 9, Pink Sky at Dusk, and Night: Patio, are quintessential California scenes, where a simple chair or sweep of pink reminds one of the Golden State. Soft colors and atmosphere in Blue Evening transcend time and place, bringing up endless possibilities. Bonebrake's paintings are grounding and uplifting at the same time. Please check out her paintings at www.bonebrakepaintings.com. It is a great privilege for Luciole Press to have her as the Art Editor.
Michael Cano, also a native Angeleno, is a vibrant artist in mediums of paint and woodblocks; he can do anything! Check out an article Diana wrote about him as our December Featured Artist, at www.luciolepress.com/Featured_Artists, and Luciole is pleased to present an essay and pieces from Cano himself on his own page, www.luciolepress.com/Michael_Cano.
This is a must-see show, and all who are able to go in person are quite fortunate. Everyone can, and should, check out their work online as well.
