Ada, a tribute   Dear friend of Luciole --- France

Happy July Birthday to you, cherie

                       by Alison Mackie

This painting was created for a wonderful person, Ada, by the author Alison Mackie. Ada is a much-loved angel of a person who is caring and loving and generous, far more than she would like us to discuss. Her accomplishments and her humanitarian work are things she is modest about. But so many people have benefited from knowing Ada, if only for a brief moment. She touches lives and leaves the heart of the person lighter, and less bruised by the circumstances of life. She endlessly gives of her soul in order to surround people with love, so that they may feel less alone or hurt by the circumstances in this world. We love our dear friend Ada, and want her to know how much we respect her and her kindness and how much we miss her as she rightfully takes the time to deal with difficult circumstances facing her own life. We want her to know that no matter what, we send our love and good wishes to her always. We are with you Ada, no matter where you are, belle souer du couer... billions de bisous et embrasses, toujours.

FOR ADA:

Me loving words canny find the right ones ever to show how I love you
Ada, even better than a sister.

Perhaps this is why I send random gifts ... because it is easier to
show, rather than tell, the sincerity of my feelings.
The right words are  stuck deep inside my pen; on your page my ink runs
dry. So I paint this painting for you. I hope you like her.
The writer abandons the words sometimes.

I met Ada through various gypsy/ roma and flamenco friends via MySpace. When i first perused her profile, I was struck by her authenticity - with some people, you just FEEL it immediately, and I felt it with Ada.

I know she did a lot of volunteer work with the Roma in France, and her generosity of time just humbled me. she was such a busy woman with her family and work. One time i was a bit down, and she was so to my aid - insisting i phone her whenever i needed to! I thought that was so kind, and told me a lot about her very warm and expressive nature.

As i learned about her life through mail and photos she so selflessly sent, I saw such an illuminating presence in her eyes and face. I knew she was going through hard times, but she never ever complained about it. Her obvious tenacity for life was - and still is - very inspirational.

There is a song that reminds me of her...and epitomizes her uplifting and fun loving spirit...
